Dearborn Heights — A Wayne County suburb is in turmoil with three top brass from the Police Department suing the city, no-confidence votes by the City Council against the mayor and police chief, and allegations of corruption on all sides.
The unrest in Dearborn Heights hit a new level last week when three police officials, including the chief, filed a federal whistleblower lawsuit Jan. 29 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan alleging the police chief and two officials were denied free speech rights when they tried to uncover corruption and wrongdoing.
